FINS’S UP SHARKS & MARK YOUR SUMMER CALENDARS!!

THE 2026 Sharkathon will be Wednesday, June 24th.

What is a Sharkathon?

A Sharkathon is a fun and active way to raise money for our team! Swimmers collect pledges from friends, family, and supporters—either per lap swum or as a flat donation. Then, on event day, they swim as many laps as they can in a set time.

How it Works:

Donors can pledge a flat amount (e.g., $20) or an amount per lap (e.g., $1/lap- if your swimmer swims 100 laps- the donor pledge would be $100). Use the QR code to access the Pledge Form by July 16th.

Set Your Goal:

Swimmers are encouraged to set a personal lap and fundraising goal.
Swim on Event Day: Each swimmer will be assigned a lane. A volunteer will count and record each swimmer’s laps.
Laps = down and back = 50 yards (2 lengths). (MAX LAP is 100 laps/200 lengths).

Collect Donations:

After the event, swimmers report their lap totals to their donors.
Donations can be submitted online via venmo (link is on pledge form) or by check/cash to the team (checks to Farmington Sharks Swim Team). All funds raised go directly to support team needs.

Sharkathon Guidelines:

Time Limit: Swimmers will have 60 minutes to swim as many laps as possible up to 100 max laps/200 lengths.

Lap Counting: Each lane will have 2 designated counters (parent/volunteer/coach).

Breaks: Swimmers may stop to rest but must stay in the water.

All Ages Welcome: From our youngest Baby Sharks to our Senior Sharks—everyone can join!

Have Fun: Swimmers can complete their laps swimming any strokes throughout the swimathon. Fins and kickboards are welcome!

Fundraising Guidelines:

Minimum Suggested Goal: $50 per swimmer but the sky is the limit! To be eligible for prizes swimmers must raise the $50 minimum.

If you use the online form to make your pledge, be sure to put “SHARKATHON & (The swimmer you are sponsoring)”
