HEAD COACH

Clyde Smith

Hello Sharks! My name is Clyde Smith. A former swimmer (anything but breaststroke) current swim coach and a family man.  I have a wife (non-swimmer) and 6 children all of them not swimming. Athletes outside the pool, I guess.  We also have 2 dogs (husky and a pound puppy) and a cat (that my wife was gracious enough to let us rescue). Needless to say our house is full. I like to consider myself a laid back kind of guy but my swimmers know when we need to get the work done. I have coached in South Dakota, Kansas and Virginia. I grew up in Lynchburg and swam with the YMCA Piranhas and Peakland Otters. So, I am back to my roots here in Lynchburg. My brother and I have swim records here in Virginia. Some have been broken while some have not.

ASSISTANT COACH

JC Gordon

Hello Sharks! My name is JC Gordon and I have been competitively swimming for 14 years. Thanks to the support of amazing coaches, friends, and family I have been able to accomplish many of my dreams in swimming. Including 4 YMCA national championships, 4 Virginia state championships, 2 time all American, and I am also committed to swim at Virginia Tech. These accomplishments give me the confidence and the opportunity to give back to the sport that I love so much. I am looking forward to my third year of coaching at the Farmington Sharks!!
